1. Information We Collect

When you use BTB Trade, we collect:

• Account information — username, email, password (hashed with bcrypt)
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, time zone
• Trading preferences — pairs followed, timeframes, notification settings
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, signal interactions
• Telegram chat ID — if you connect Telegram (for signal delivery only)
• Payment data — handled by Stripe/Paystack, we never store full card numbers

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the trading signal service
• Authenticate accounts and prevent fraud (including IP-based limits)
• Deliver signals via Telegram and web dashboard
• Send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, receipts)
• Process payments through trusted third-party processors
• Comply with legal obligations

We never sell your data to third parties. We do not display advertisements.

3. Data Security

We protect your data with:

• Bcrypt password hashing — your password is never stored in plain text
• JWT session tokens — secure HttpOnly cookies, expire after 7 days
• HTTPS encryption — all data in transit is encrypted
• Encrypted configuration — sensitive keys (Telegram, API) stored encrypted
• IP-based abuse prevention — max 2 accounts per IP
• Regular security audits — code reviews and dependency updates

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use only essential cookies:

• btb_session — authentication cookie (HttpOnly, secure)
• btb_lang — your language preference (English/French)

We do not use third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Telegram — for signal delivery (your chat ID only)
• Stripe / Paystack — for payment processing (when paid plans activate)
• Resend — for transactional email delivery
• AWS — for cloud hosting

Each service has its own privacy policy. We minimize data shared with them to what is strictly necessary.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correct — update inaccurate information from your dashboard
• Delete — request full account and data deletion
• Export — download your data in machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent — disable notifications or close account at any time

7. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Account details are removed within 30 days
• Signal history and journals are anonymized
• Backup copies are purged within 90 days
• Payment records may be retained for legal/tax purposes (up to 10 years)

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (including AWS regions globally). We ensure equivalent levels of protection through contractual safeguards with our service providers.

9. Children

BTB Trade is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover such data, we delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified by email and in-app notice 30 days before they take effect.
